Hi
Jump to url giving problem when parameter values having "&" symbol.
Requested ULR is not showing. Pl let me know is there any escape method in
Reporting servicesTulasi,
There is a way, I can't find the report I had this issue in, at the
moment.
I think it had something to do with escaping the escape sequence! As
soon as I find the report I'll post the solution here.
Regards
Chris

I've found it now. Below is the script used to start an application in
a new window, but don't let that put you off. The bits you are
interested in are '&' which is the HTML code for &. But also, you
may need to pass it as '%2526' which is the hex for %& . I can't
remember the exact reason why I had to do this but it's something to do
with the way the browser interpretes the string.
<Hyperlink>="javascript:if(window.open('http://10.1.1.48/sales_enu/start
.swe?SWECmd=GotoView&SWEView=All+Account+List+View&SWERF=1&S
WEBU=1&SWEApplet0=Account+List+Applet&SWERowId0=" +
Replace(Fields!CompanyId.Value, "+", "%252B") + "', 'miniwin',
'')){}"</Hyperlink>

Jump To URL Bug
I have two different URLs I use for Jump To URL navigation in my
reports.
This one adds a String report parameter on the end and works fine:
=Globals!ReportServerUrl + Globals!ReportFolder +
"?/Detail/Campaign+List&rs:Command=Render&rs:format=HTML4.0&rc:Toolbar=false&rc:Zoom=Whole+Page&rc:Parameters=false&CampaignCode="
+ Fields!CampaignCode.Value
This one adds an Integer report parameter on the end and does not
work:
=Globals!ReportServerUrl + Globals!ReportFolder +
"?/Detail/Order+Detail&rs:Command=Render&rs:format=HTML4.0&rc:Toolbar=false&rc:Zoom=Whole+Page&rc:Parameters=false&OrderID="
+ Fields!OrderID.Value
The two URLs are exactly the same except for the report names and
report parameters passed on the end. For some reason the second URL
that passes an Integer report parameter does not create a Hyperlink at
all, you can't click on it. If you remove the #"&OrderID=" +
Fields!OrderID.Value# (#'s used for reference only) part the field
will become a Hyperlink, but of course the report won't run because it
needs the report parameter passed. I also tried sticking it in the
middle of the URL and still
no dice.
The only conclusion I can come to is that there is a bug passing an
Integer parameter in the Jump To URL. Can someone run a quick test
that replicates this problem and confirm or deny this as being a bug?
Any and all help is appreciated.
FrankFrank,
Use an & instead of the + to concatenate the URL strings. I saw the bug
happen when there is a + sign. When I used the &, it works fine.

strings. If it sees a number it trys to add it (this is a vb thing). Always
use & when concatenating strings.

will implicitly call the .ToString() method on the object before
concatenation.
Concatenating real strings will also work with + instead of &
e.g. ="Hello " + "World"
For other datatypes, you could also use CStr() to convert them to strings:
e.g. =CStr(20)

jump to URL and ReportParameters
Hi all...
Is there a way to set the format of a date parameter to day/month/year ?
I´m using jump to URL to navigate to another report by setting up the action
property of textbox to:
= Globals!ReportServerUrl & "?/Folder/ReportOne&InitialDate=" &
Parameters!InitialDate.Value
PS.: the language property of textbox is Portuguese (brazil)
... but in URL of "ReportOne" the date is converted to another format
(month/day/year)...
Could anyone help me?
thanks a lotPlease check the Readme file of Reporting Services 2000 SP1 or SP2:

Jump to URL and pass parameter
I would like to jump to a URL like UPS and pass in a value (tracking number).
Is there a way to do this under the "action" of the field I would like to
pass? "Jump to Report" allows parameters but "Jump to URL" does not resolve
the actual field values.

Thanks in advance,
JohnHere is the specific example for the issue described. In ther Report Layout,
I select a specific field and in the properties window "action" I enter the
URL below in the "Jump to URL" option.
http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?ShipmentNumber=%20Fields!TrackingNumber.Value
When executing the report, clicking in the actual value passes the URL
exactly as shown above instead of converting Fields!TrackingNumber.Value to
the actual value.
Is there an alternate way to accomplish this?
Thanks,
John|||You have to turn this into an expression:

Jump to URL - Passing Parameter Issue with special symbols
Hi Microsoft,
I've currently using the Jump to URL Syntax (see below) to open a new window
and pop up a drilldown report in IE.
The main problem i'm having with the syntax below iswhen the account manager
name (ACCTMGR Parameter string) contains a umlaut (german name with a double
o on top of a letter), the drilldown report runs but it doesn't run the
report details (report is blank) when information does exist. I've tried
search for resolutions online and cam up with nothing.
In addition, when a parenthesis and or an ampersand is present in the
parameter, it does not run the drilldown subreport. Your help would be
greatly appreciated.
Can you help?
=iif(sum(Fields!TotalAmount.Value)=0,"","javascript:void(window.open('http://ourreportserveralias/reportserver?%2fDrillDown+Reports%2fMarketing+Campaign+Report+Details&rc:Parameters=false&rptCurrency="
& Parameters!rptCurrency.Value & "&Division=" &
Join(Parameters!Division.Value, "&Division=") & "&DivSales=" &
Join(Parameters!DivSales.Value, "&DivSales=") & "&DeptSales=" &
Join(Parameters!DeptSales.Value, "&DeptSales=") & "&ProductLIne=" &
Join(Parameters!ProductLIne.Value, "&ProductLIne=") & "&startdate=" &
Parameters!startdate.Value & "&enddate=" & Parameters!enddate.Value &
"&ACCTMGR=" & ReportItems("ACCTMGR1").Value & "&CAMP=LEFT+BLANK" &
"','_blank','location=no,toolbar=no,left=100,top=100,height=600,width=800,resizable=yes'))")My guess is you have to URL encode this. Here is a link. You might be able
to use HttpUtility.UrlEncode in your expression. However, if it doesn't then
you will need to use code behind reports.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I've tried referencing System.Web.HttpUtility.UrlEncode (and also just
HttpUtility.UrlEncode) in the Jump to URL syntax as such:

"','_blank','location=no,toolbar=no,left=100,top=100,height=600,width=1200,resizable=yes'))")
But no luck it doesn't work. It actually doesn't recognize the UrlEncode
syntax and I've also added the Reference System.Web as well to ensure
everything was referenced properly.
I'm a little new to VB so if you don't mind, I would greatly appreciate it
if you can be a little more specific on what needs to be completed iwth the
code and show an example of how would i reference it in the Jump to URL
expression below?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Jump To Report with Multi Valued Parameter Value
I have a mutli-valued, (cascading? dependent on other parameter
values) parameter whose values are retrieved from a database query. I
want to set the default value of the parameter to be the same as the
"Select All" function. How can I acheive this?
To explain, I have two budget reports. The first is a summary, which
groups lines by expense codes and then displays a total. Each dollar
figure is set to click through to the detail report, and filter the
results based on the expense code from the line clicked on. However,
if the user clicks on the total figure (all expense codes), the
resulting detail report only shows the detail for the first object code
in the list. It should display the detail for all object codes.
Thanks -

SELECT 0 as Value, 'Select All' as Description
UNION ALL
SELECT ID as Value, Columnname as Description FROM YourTable
When you set =0 as your default value, you should be fine.

It looks like RS is having troubles to determine what to put in the
parameter, I think you have the parameter set up to get the contents of the
field (expense code) of the line you click on. But on the total line there
is no such field. This can be solved by altering your subreport parameters.
Set them up so that the subreport gives the details of all the expense
codes.

Jump to report value for parameter, cube data
Have a problem with passing information between reports using Jump to report
facility.
User clicking on field value in report to pass to second report. This works
with the second report showing the value of field user has selected in the
parameter box (Available Values set to non-queried) but report shows an error
of:
restrictions imposed by the constrained flag in the STRTOSET function were
violated
Have tried many settings to correct this but with no luck. Does anybody
know how to correct this problem.
Thanks
IanIn case this is helpful to others I have found that the field parameter was
causing the problem. I was using Fields!FieldName.Value and should have used
Fields!FieldName.UniqueName

Jump to report and parameters
I have a table where I want to jump to a different report based on the value
in the table cell. The report that I am jumping to has a parameter, and the
parameter value that I need to pass is based on the table cell's value. I
know how to set this up in the report but can't figure out how filter the
dataset that has my parameter values, and I can't filter the dataset using
ReportItems.
If I were to write some pseudocode using SQL it would look something like
this:
PopupReport(Select Param From ParamTable Where ParamKey = Fields!MyTextBox.Value)
Thanks...
Regards,
SteveIf the report you are jumping to has parameters then I am confused on the
issue. When setting up the jump to report you set the parameters of the
report you are jumping to, in this case to the field. That being the case,
what is the problem? The report you are jumping to must be able to accept
the parameter and return the correct data.

The problem I have is that the parameter value that I need to pass is in a
SQL table and I need to select the correct parameter based on the cell I am
clicking on.
For instance, the textbox value I am clicking on contains a sales region,
e.g. Central, Northeast, etc, and I want to pass a list of the salereps for
that region into another report. The list of salesreps for that region is
contained in a separate sql table and the sql to find the appropriate list of
salesreps would be something like "Select RepList From Configs Where Region ='Central'", except that the region varies with the row I am clicking on in
the Reporting Services table.
I can make this work if I do something like this for the parameter
expression in the report:
iif(Fields!Region.Value="Central","1,2,3",iif(Fields!Region.Value="Northeast","4,5,6",....))
, but it's kind of ugly and hardcoded...
Hope this is clearer and thanks for your response.

in the table cell.
Thanks...

SteveIf the report you are jumping to has parameters then I am confused on the
issue. When setting up the jump to report you set the parameters of the
report you are jumping to, in this case to the field. That being the case,
what is the problem? The report you are jumping to must be able to accept
the parameter and return the correct data.

Jump to another report: mapping.
Hi!
I know that I can jump from one report to another one by clicking the first one but... are we able to pass an specific parameter depending on the bar or sector (in a pie chart) we've clicked on? It's like if a chart could be 'mapped' as a gif in html.
Hope you can help me, thanks a lot in advance!!! :)
YOu configure this in the detail section of the chart. You can either compose your own hyperlink with concatenating the URL as well as the parameter together or use the JumpTo functionality with grabbinh the actual value with the plain Field from the dataset.HTH, Jens K. Suessmeyer.
